Green Coffee Buyer

About the role

You'll decide what we roast before it ever hits the drum. As Green Coffee Buyer, you'll build and tend the grower relationships behind our menu, evaluate and book lots, and balance quality, price, and supply so the roastery never runs short of coffee worth shipping. It's the role where sourcing values become real purchasing decisions.

What you'll do

• Source, cup, and book green coffee from the origins we work in — Ethiopia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala, and Kenya.
• Build long-term, direct relationships with growers, co-ops, and importers on fair, transparent terms.
• Manage contracts, pricing, and delivery timing so inventory matches our roast-to-order demand.
• Plan the seasonal menu with the Head Roaster around what is fresh and available.
• Track quality and traceability for every lot so we can tell customers exactly where their coffee comes from.

What you'll bring

• 3+ years in green buying, importing, or specialty sourcing.
• Strong cupping skills and a calibrated palate for evaluating lots.
• Comfort negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
• A working understanding of direct trade and sustainable sourcing.
• Willingness to travel to origin a few times a year.

Nice to have

• Q Grader certification.
• Spanish-language fluency.
• Existing relationships at one or more of our origins.

About the team

We're a small roastery in Los Angeles shipping freshly roasted, single-origin coffee to subscribers across the country. We source directly, roast to order, and care about the people on both ends of the bag. You'd set the foundation the whole menu is built on, working hand in hand with the Head Roaster.

Compensation & benefits

The salary range for this role is $80,000–$105,000, depending on experience, plus meaningful equity.
